1-2-1 Photography Tuition


Following on from my photo workshops, I provide one-to-one photographic tuition, covering whatever area of nature or general photography you wish.

Obviously I specialise in nature photography - trees, flowers, macro studies of insects and plant life - but many principles of photography are applicable to any subject.

So composition ideas are the same whether you're taking a close-up shot of a flower, or a portrait of your favourite niece or nephew.

The private one-to-one photography tuition I offer is based on a 4 hour session, at a cost of £100, and is loosely along these lines...

1/2 hour chat to see what you want to learn (no obligation, if you decide not to go ahead, that's fine), then either looking at the camera you use, and how to get the best from it, or we go for a walk to try out and/or explain different techniques.  Usually it's a combination of the two.

I would normally expect us both to be taking pictures and comparing them to see how different viewpoints, lens choice etc. has an effect on the outcome. But whatever you want to address is fine, whether it's just the basics of what your camera does, or looking at specific techniques.

I use Pentax cameras, so if you're one of the growing number that have chosen Pentax too, I can offer that little extra that you're unlikely to find elsewhere.  But whatever your camera, and whatever the make, I can help you get the best from it.

I am available weekends or weekdays, mostly Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and one day at the weekend, for any 4 hours during the day.
