About Daniel

Originally hailing from Billericay, Essex and now living down the road in Hutton, I have been taking photographs for about 20 years, and have owned an SLR since 1996, unfortunately after taking a two month trip to Australia, but just in time for my honeymoon!

Having trained as a Guitar maker at the London Guildhall University, I subsequently worked for the Fire Service and Police in admin roles, but it wasn't until I decided to concentrate fully on photography that I felt truly comfortable in my working life.

Turning professional in 2002, I originally exhibited and sold Limited Edition Prints, but as time went on I found photography tuition to be a more rewarding and enjoyable aspect to concentrate on, starting workshops in 2003, and private tuition in 2007.  By the end of 2011, I had tutored over 800 people, a figure that may top 1,000 by the end of 2012.

I use Pentax cameras (see the gear listings here), and quality is obviously very important to me; I use high-quality lenses by both Pentax and Sigma (EX range), and will usually use a tripod to ensure crisp detail and accurate focus.
